Acorn to Oak

The mightiness of the Terebinth Tree
Is found deep in the depths of me

The strength of a thousand years of growth
Lies within the acorn before it is an oak

The power that pushed past death to life and out of the hard shell allowing the roots to emerge
Deciphered the DNA of destiny to explosively collide and converge

Out of the dark earth into the light of existence
A tender shoot grew with tenacity and persistence
Weathering the storms of life and mighty winds that blew
Sometimes bending but never breaking from the resistance it grew
Declaring “I am an Oak tree mighty and strong”
Called forth from within the identity of whom I belong
Acorn no longer, as time has brought the future close
Yesterday a distant memory, today I remember most
Standing tall, honoured, favoured and blessed
Another living oak with genetic data of righteousness
Symbol of long life, living for generations past, future and now
A point of reference on the journey that speaks where, why and how
A sacred tree of strength, a covering to all who believe
Placed on the one who had saved a life, a crown of oak leaves
How is it I slept for many years and suddenly awoke
Realizing that I had supernaturally grown from a tiny acorn…
Into  a Mighty Oak
