The Power of a Seed

Recently there is a message that keeps repeating itself to me. I have been gaining revelation knowledge and understanding about the power of a seed. Within a small seed no matter what seed it is there is everything necessary to create, sustain, reproduce and flourish. Seeds create plants, flowers, trees, animals and human beings. Out of these things many other things are created as well. Houses are built because a seed grew, clothing comes from a seed, food comes from seeds and our next generation is all because of a seed.

Wow! The power of a large oak tree is in one seed. The ultimate goal of the tree or plant is to produce fruit that would reproduce more seeds.  A seed goes through an amazing process. When in the correct environment and conditions the potential in a seed is encouraged to release what has been dormant within. From being buried in the nutrients of the soil, to breaking open and allowing what is within to emerge using two points of growth by pushing downwards to grow roots deep and pushing upwards to break through the surface to reach for the necessary ingredients to sustain life, such as air, water and the sun.  Eventually it will weather different conditions, heat, wind, rain, storms growing against all obstacles to become strong and inevitably to produce blossoms and fruit and more seeds.

In the gospels Jesus speaks of the power of a seed. He speaks of the Sower that scatters the seed in four different types of places. Different soil will produce different results in the process of the potential of a seed. In explaining this parable Jesus says that the seed is the word of the kingdom, the soil is our hearts and each example is a different result of the word in our lives.

1. “Some seed fell by the wayside and the birds came and ate them up”- this word was not understood and the enemy came and snatched it away so it does nothing to the heart.

2. “Some fell on stony ground and because of not enough earth beneath it, the sun scorched them and they had no roots to ground them”- this word was received into the heart with joy, but because this word had no potential to grow roots deep in the heart, it was not grounded and the person stumbles when a bit of difficult circumstances happen.

3. “Some fell upon the thorns and the thorns sprung up and choked them out.”- This person too receives the word, but there are other things like the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches that choke the word and cause the word not to produce.

4. “Others fell on good soil and yielded a crop, each seed reproducing different amounts.”- This person hears, understands, receives and goes through the process to produce fruit , some a hundred fold, some sixty and some thirty.

Please note that in all four places it is the same seed being planted by the same Sower, but each one is reproducing a different result.  The difference here is the condition of the heart.

Many of us are not aware of the other seeds that are being planted in our hearts, seeds of discord and negativity, of unbelief and worry, seeds of self and seeds of resistance. Like sneaky weeds they grow and we think they are good until it is too late. They take over and we have trouble finding room to plant good seeds in the gardens of our hearts.

Today I want to encourage you to break up the fallow ground in your heart and to fertilize it and dig up all weeds or nearby plants that could possibly hinder the growth of the seed that desires to be planted deep in your heart.

When God comes to sow seed how will you receive it? Will you hear and understand? Will you throw it away or let it be stolen? Will you have the desires of the world to choke out the potential of growth that is in that seed? Or will it grow and flourish and reproduce much fruit?
Remember there is much power and potential in just one seed.

God can Fix Us

Yesterday at our fellowship we had a very powerful speaker teach on how we put up walls to protect ourselves and to safeguard our hearts. But in the process of doing this we have taken an attitude of self protection and ultimately have not fully yielded to trusting God in our lives.

She asked us to examine areas in our lives where we need to repent and ask God for forgiveness for not trusting Him and ask Him to break down the walls of separation that were hindering His work in our lives.

 During the ministry time I was ministering to one woman and I heard the Lord say the following;
“ Just as you have jewelry that you deem valuable and even though it is broken, you have not thrown it away, you have stored it and eventually take it to a jeweler, a person who is skilled in fixing and putting together and has a full understanding of how jewelry works. You wouldn't take it to a mechanic, because he is skilled in cars not jewelry, you would take a computer to a computer technician, a TV to a television repair man and lamps to an electrician.  So I am the only one who knows how to fix broken people. My people are not working correctly; they have misused and abused the creation I have designed. They don’t know how to put themselves back together, but I know exactly how each person was designed and when I fix them , they are like brand new. I shine them and clean them and set them in order to work as they were originally created to. I am the one that fixes broken people.”

After saying this aloud to the woman I was ministering to, God by the power of Holy Spirit did what only He could do and He burdened me with an understanding of how much He wants to fix His creation. How He longs to set us on the right course, tune up our hearing, give us new paradigm ways of thinking, realign our thought life, replace the lies with the truth, heal us from the inside out and all we have to do is bring our broken selves to Him and leave it there and let Him do what He does best. Fix His creation.

I wailed loudly as the burden became stronger and as I felt the pain He feels when He sees us trying to fix ourselves or others in our own strength, it is like taking your jewelry which is so valuable to the mechanic and expecting him to know how to fix this delicate, precious, sentimental object and not cause any further damage. People are valuable and of great worth to God and He doesn't throw us away because we are broken. He treasures us enough to deem us worth fixing. He is just waiting for us to come. Free of charge as the price has already been paid.

Some of us have been trained in how to allow inner healing to flow and to give Holy Spirit an opportunity to minister to the inner man, the spirit and to the soul of a person. The time is now to allow what Jesus has done as the Lamb of God to cause the curses and lies of Egypt to Passover Gods chosen people. As we lead each of them out of slavery and bondage and into the freedom of the Promised land.

The Bouncy Ball Theory

How many times have you failed and a good thing came out of it?
would like to encourage you not to fall and go splat! Just get ready and bounce back
Use the energy or exertion of falling or being thrown down to cause you to spring in a direction that you want to go in. This is called intent-full energy.

If you learn how to become a bouncer you will not only learn how to bounce back but to also begin to spring off of other things to get you to the location that you desire. You will begin to become a person that things just don’t stick to.

Let certain things bounce off of you as you refuse to accept unacceptable things and start sending them back. Don’t accept rejection, failure, not feeling lovable or even dis-honor, let it bounce off of you.

Remember that God put you together and He knew what you would go through, every circumstance and situation. He put inside of you everything you would need to make sure that you could bounce back. Trust that today.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11

I love the stories by A.A. Milne of Winnie the Pooh but my favorite character is not Pooh bear, it is Tigger. Tigger had a great attitude, he was positive and did the one thing that I believe most of us need to do -bounce around in life!

Spring is about to Give Birth

I am moving into the second phase of my life. There are many things changing. For some time now I have been in a transition phase and there are many days I wish it would just be over. I have had to let go of the old things and begin to move ahead with no clear full understanding as to why I am going in this new direction. But my instincts know that this is the way I must go. So I follow as He leads me.

In the first phase of my life I had younger children and I was finding my way and learning who I was. Many of my hopes and dreams were accomplished and I was in an easy phase as I was on auto pilot and could accomplish these tasks now with ease, as it had become second nature for me.
But there was so much more for me in embracing the fullness of who I now know I am with all of the years of experience added to me. I am also becoming a mother of adult and teen children. So here I am stretching myself by learning new things, embracing a new pathway, letting go of old patterns and shifting as a woman who still has so much ahead of her.

I am also in the process of publishing all of the books I have written over the past 25 years. The stories I have lived over the years have given me a platform to speak and teach to so many. Now I have faithfully penned them and the time and opportunity has finally arrived.

So now I am pregnant with my future and preparing myself to give birth.

Spring is my favorite season. Spring is a pregnant season of endless possibilities. Winter can sometimes be a very hard season. Things often seem dead. All life forms are in hibernation. There is a blanket of snow covering everything and as beautiful as it is, it slows us down. Mentally we struggle during our winter season, especially near the end. After wearing heavy clothing, fighting through snow storms, not being able to feel the natural heat or light of the sun, many of us by the time the month of March rolls around are longing for spring to finally arrive.

Spring… Spring is the season of new birth, everything that was being incubated and insulated under the earth during that time, is now getting ready to come forth.  I love the rain as the water washes away the old snow and dirt and saturates the earth with the essential ingredient that it needs for all life to survive. So the sun peaks from behind clouds and people that we haven’t seen all winter are outdoors, walking dogs, cleaning windows, garages and doing all sorts of recreational activities. The warmth of the slight change in weather has called all things to come out from hiding. Any day now everything pregnant will give birth! Trees will blossom and leaves will bud, ducks will have ducklings, grass will grow, flowers will bloom, rivers will flow, eggs will be hatched, winds will blow, wombs will be opened as life is called forth in the season of spring.

So here I am, moving out of my season of winter and rejoicing as the signs of spring are all around me. I try not to be too anxious and go ahead of the natural timing. I haven't come this far to risk it all by giving birth too soon. Over the years I have learned to truly trust my instincts, but the greater fact is that the One who changes the seasons of our lives is with me. In Ecclesiastes it says that there is a time for everything, a season for every activity, so I pay close attention to the signs and stages of labour remembering nothing truly happens when you go into false labour. I must wait for the correct timing and resist the urge to push too soon.

I am beginning to embrace the call to serve by helping others who are pregnant and in difficult circumstances to overcome every obstacle to be able to give birth, to not abort their destiny but to bring forth life. This is the call on my life as I help women, men and children to make it through winter and arrive into their spring.

The Gentle Whisper

She was a woman with a loud voice, created out of the necessity to be heard. She was placed in front of others and had to speak above their murmurs. Her voice was created to carry for long distances and to resound in the atmosphere long after she had finished talking. From the depths of within her was a silent cry that when released did not come out soft and gentle or tender and compassionate. Instead it roared out of her being with intensity and ferocity. Could it be that if she bellowed louder, then somehow they would hear the message clearer? Yet still their vacant blank stares spoke volumes. She was still not being heard.

As she placed her head in her hands and cried aloud she heard a faint Gentle Whisper. “Be still and Know that I am G-d”.

Instinctively her soul whispered back “yes G-d”.

Then unto her came the recollection of her search and how she had looked for The Answer in the fire and in the rain, in the wind, the storm, through the earthquake and in the ocean so deep. But when she had quieted herself to be still enough He came to her in a still small Gentle Whisper.

So now in quiet and solitude she listened to the whispers of His wisdom.

It floated above her and settled within her somehow penetrating her thoughts of judgement and confusion, resting in the bosom of her beating heart, nestled safely in the womb of her soul, allowing her spirit to mould it with truth. Now she could speak. Yet all that she was really ready to do was hear more from Him.

She prayed the cry and it was released as a whisper “how can I tell them?”

“With gentleness and patience, love and grace, with truth and spirit, mercy and forgiveness, all whispered in their ears that hear.”
“For what I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what I whisper in your ear, proclaim from the rooftops” was His reply.

So all of heaven blessed the moment that He commissioned her to speak for Him, to become His mouth piece here on earth.  She would echo His voice and bellow His passion.  Sometimes with intensity and ferocity, but always with Spirit and with Truth as she introduced others to The One she called the “Gentle Whisper”.
