I am No Longer a Slave

I am no longer a slave

Chains of bondage holding me captive
Keeping me from the liberty to run free... unchained
Unseen barriers of fear paralyzing a thought of escape
Will I surrender to be a servant locked behind imaginary bars?

I am no longer a slave...

Yet this generational pain demands to be felt and paid for
Though my mother was born free and my father was liberated
The overseer of my torture has become my mind stuck in the past
So I hang on the tree as a memorial to my ancestors

Though I am no longer a slave...

True freedom has tortured my soul
As I relinquish to be controlled by a master of my choosing
Why this yoke? when in ultimate truth
My captors have left the doors unlocked

Yet I am no longer a slave...

Are there keys that release me from this paradigm?
Words that break the hold of these shackles
No more self cruelty with memories that terrorize
Just a prayer that I would be recognized

I can not be sold for I am not for sale!
I am no longer a slave...

Set free, liberated, unlocked  no fear, no boundaries, no jailer,
I command all darkness and evil tormenting me to leave
I shall survive, my people  thrive, I will stay alive
Freedom flowing in my veins

For I am No Longer A Slave !

Not In the Cemetery

The day of the cemetery draws nearer every morning and every night
we take inventory of the number of our days…

The many books that I have yet to pen can not be heard in the tunnels of the catacombs

Nor  beautiful dances created in the hallows of the graveyard

My words that have power and meaning will only bounce off of a closed casket

What a tragedy if my headstone should be engraved with here lies a woman that did not fulfill her purpose

No flowers will be there to mourn the many unfulfilled ideas, visions, dreams and gifts

Not in the darkness where they bury the dead for eternity

The fence around the cemetery locks in many people who have died this type of death

And it is not well with my soul

We all came into this world a treasure chest full of potential
with the intention to manifest the glory of God

Never surrender the treasures within you to a cemetery plot

The things you are to accomplish should not become fertilizer for the burial grounds

Refuse to allow your God given dreams to be entombed

And living visions to become buried nightmares

Riches are not to be hoarded but while there is still the life of day
But used to spread the light to all that are in the dark

The graveyard is but a thief and a robber

Stealing away forever the rich deposits that you have not yet given to this world

That the forces of death desire to lock in a crypt in a mausoleum

One agreement you should make with death- “I purpose to die empty and you will get nothing”

You will not benefit from my last breath

For I will accomplish my task and run my race to the finish

For He has placed this treasure in earthen vessels ...

And I have uncovered and know my intrinsic wealth and value

My worth has only multiplied and been added to the kingdom

I have been given gifts to give

Talent to share

Ideas to enrich the world

Potential to be released

Inspiration to shape this next generation

I will not leave them in God’s acre to be silenced forever

I will to die like my role model- saying to the world “it is finished”

Therefore my last will and testament will testify                                                                                                                                                                                   And my place of internment will become my place of rest
Not in the cemetery!

Acorn to Oak

The mightiness of the Terebinth Tree
Is found deep in the depths of me

The strength of a thousand years of growth
Lies within the acorn before it is an oak

The power that pushed past death to life and out of the hard shell allowing the roots to emerge
Deciphered the DNA of destiny to explosively collide and converge

Out of the dark earth into the light of existence
A tender shoot grew with tenacity and persistence
Weathering the storms of life and mighty winds that blew
Sometimes bending but never breaking from the resistance it grew
Declaring “I am an Oak tree mighty and strong”
Called forth from within the identity of whom I belong
Acorn no longer, as time has brought the future close
Yesterday a distant memory, today I remember most
Standing tall, honoured, favoured and blessed
Another living oak with genetic data of righteousness
Symbol of long life, living for generations past, future and now
A point of reference on the journey that speaks where, why and how
A sacred tree of strength, a covering to all who believe
Placed on the one who had saved a life, a crown of oak leaves
How is it I slept for many years and suddenly awoke
Realizing that I had supernaturally grown from a tiny acorn…
Into  a Mighty Oak

Pull Back the Curtain

Psalm 104:2 You stretch out the heavens like a curtain.
Pull back the curtain
What do you see?
That which is hidden is now revealed
That which was closed is now unsealed
Pull back the curtain and open your eyes
The heavenly curtain that you are veiled behind
Walk past the curtain into the presence
Past the obvious into the very essence
No longer veiled in secret or cloaked in  mystery
No longer shrouded in mist unknown as you walk past the canopy
Pull back the curtain what do you see?
Great plans for your future and destiny?
That which was disguised is now unconcealed
That which was unconceivable is now real
Greater than you imagined this  heavenly unveiling
No longer separated, truth now prevailing
For once I was blind but now I see
All that ever was and is and  ever will be
Behind the curtain lies your true identity
A place of union and symphonic harmony
Not sure of what you may find leaves you feeling uncertain
This can all end if you just
Pull back the curtain

God in A Box?

All mankind has ever sought
Is to find their Creator in a box

Yet when He was born and in a box did lay
Couldn’t except that box as it came another way

Pharisees boxed him telling Him how He could and should behave
They boxed Him in the end on the cross and tombed Him in a grave

Forgetting  He had chosen to box Himself to help them to find
As He desired to dwell amongst them in the midst of mankind

Yet still they created the box and they treasured it well

Not realizing that it was not there He desired to reside
for it was within man that He would choose to dwell
Not in a box, not in a formula, not in a box, not in an idea, not in a box,
not in a theology, not in a box

We can not define Him with our intelligent conversation or lengthy educational talks
No chain can bind Him, restrain or hold Him down for He came to unlock

To loose, release, set free, let fly, let be … me and you
For if He was in a box then they would stay there too

So instead He came in the flesh to show us how to “out of the box” get

But those called to be followers have not caught this simple lesson yet
For we like our creators, our saviours and our helpers in packages so neat and tidy

So we can predict, fortell and understand everything that is hidden or hiding.

Dare that we should trust, believe and obey in what we can not control everyday

To let the Spirit lead and guide and each individual to let Him live inside
For no box can hold Him , contain Him , control Him,

He is all that is and was and ever shall be

God of the universe, living in me
Dare that I should let my simple mind

Create a box so I can keep Him inside

Freedom is what He came to give to me, the Creator of all Destiny
So everyday, everywhere, everyone can use the keys to unlock

For know this one thing…

Our God was never, ever in the box.

My Tongue Is the Pen Of A Ready Writer Psalm 45:1

My tongue is the pen of a ready writer
Vibrating with energy to create words that are powerful and have meaning

Deeper than thoughts, now able to bounce off walls and floors and ceilings

The voice that has heard these thoughts so revealing
Now loosed in the atmosphere forever to never return … but for all to learn and to discern

My tongue is the pen of a ready writer
To speak with intention at the mere mention of wrong becoming right, my soul in the middle of a night

Yearning for dark to become bright and the hidden to release the light

Words and energy fields rippling outward to undo and become undone
My tongue is the pen of a ready writer

Able to connect and attract and direct and attack
To decree and agree and build and set free

My tongue is the pen of a ready writer
Never running dry of ink or lead or hand to hold or paper weight that flies away

My sounds of heaven released to stay envisioning the dawning of a brand new day
This is the pen that has been given to me, my destiny

For my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.
There is nothing heavier or any lighter than a guard on my mouth that keeps me silent

Bound in chains because they refuse to hear
The truth for fear

Liberation is here
For you were set free long ago, don’t you know?

On a tree blowing in the breeze unlocked by the key
So hold your pain a little tighter, shine your light a little brighter

Get ready for my future
For my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.
